Even though the human brain lives in complete darkness, it has an astonishing ability to safely navigate you through a world full of obstacles, as well as enable you to perform very complex movements, both for survival and recreation. But how? Well, there's only one way to find the answer to that question: taking a trip Below the Surface.

By doing this, we'll better understand what's possible when you know what the brain needs to learn, retain, maintain, and recall a learned skill in the future. By the time we are through, we'll have a greater appreciation of what we own - the most powerful system ever created to learn and perform a complex movement.

So, join me on A Journey Below the Surface "LIVE." During this unique trip, we will hold a Q&A session with the brain as it goes through the skill acquisition process. This deep dive into our brain's inner workings will be a potent reminder that we must take care of it by keeping our bodies moving and constantly challenged by learning new skills.

The Ultimate Trip

Imagine the advantage we would have if we knew more about our brains and how we could we benefit from that knowledge to gain more skills and, even better, enjoy putting that knowledge to good use in other ways. But, of course, accomplishing this requires taking the right action. It's why "The Ultimate Trip" - A Journey Below the Surface was created.

The human brain is considered the most powerful and explicitly designed system to learn new complex skills. Still, many of us need to know more about how it works. A Journey Below the Surface "LIVE" will help with that. During the session, Brian shares his essential research, observations, and experiences on how the human brain acquires a new skill. It's just the right amount of science you'll need to change how you think about your brain.

For this trip to work, Brian involves his audience in parts of his research. So, while others are trying to figure out how to learn something quickly, Brian focuses his attention on more significant matters in question. Ultimately, the objective is to answer the most common question: "How Come I'm Not Getting Better?" The answer to this question and others will be what we bring back from the trip.

In conclusion, there will be a Q&A session to answer the questions that will help you navigate obstacles and minimize your struggles. The plan is to have you leave with new ideas, new tools for learning, and a new appreciation for your brain.

Coaches and Parents

Being equipped with some of the latest science will be your best tool as a coach or parent involved in teaching and training. Even a minimal understanding of how the brain learns a new skill will elevate your status as a successful instructor and provide your students with a unique experience.

Suppose you know the best lessons and drills to acquire the skills needed to perform in your sport. Learning how to deliver those lessons to attain maximum results will give you a greater chance for success. Knowing the what, when, and how of practicing a task will move you in that direction. And that happens only when you better understand how to best present information to the brain. Here's where Brian can help.

During A Journey Below the Surface, Brian will take you on a quick trip inside the human brain to hold a Q&A session as it goes through the skill acquisition process. The goal is to know what it is like to be a student immersed in an instructional environment - how it feels, what challenges they face, and most importantly, what is happening emotionally inside their brain. Equipped with this new knowledge, you'll have a better feel for the amount of time your students will need to absorb your message, the length of time it takes for the human brain to begin the first stages of acquisition, and knowing when it's okay to move on to something new. Finally, regardless of your sport, you'll leave with a better understanding of how best to design and plan your practices. These simple changes can produce the most significant leaps in progress.

Boomers and Seniors

As a baby boomer and senior, Brian believes that turning 55 is simply the beginning of a new and unique journey. Brian shares the challenges of getting older, mainly mustering up the energy to get yourself up and moving. But Brian also understands that keeping yourself moving and learning new skills is required to keep your body and brain active and healthy regardless of age, even more so as we grow older.

Below the Surface "LIVE" will have you thinking differently about aging. Brian will take you on a journey inside the human brain from a perspective very few can offer. Through this journey, you'll peek at some notes he has collected over the last three decades.

What's the best part of Below the Surface "LIVE"? First, Brian will host a Q&A session with the human brain as it goes through the skill acquisition process. Then, Brian completes the journey by teaching his audience how to navigate the obstacles and hurdles when learning something new. If you want to make the most of your golden years, Below the Surface "LIVE" is one trip every baby boomer and senior should take at least once. Your body and brain will thank you.
